Little Acorn Ranch was born out of a deep love for the land, a reverence for traditional ways of living, and a desire to pass on something meaningful to the next generation. Nestled in the heart of Virginia, our heritage homestead began as a vision to reconnect with simpler times—where families worked together, animals were valued partners, and the seasons shaped the rhythm of daily life.
Our journey started humbly, with a few chickens, a garden, and a couple of curious mini horses. Before long, it grew into something greater. We began raising heritage breed sheep, caring for rare Caspian horses, and welcoming others who longed for the peace, purpose, and fulfillment that come with homesteading. Little Acorn Ranch is where homestead meets heritage—a place to learn, to grow, and to remember.
As a fourth-generation farm grandmother, Patricia carries forward a legacy built on hard work, faith, and an unshakable connection to the land. This isn’t just her story, but a continuation of the wisdom, resilience, and traditions of the women and men who came before her. With decades of hands-on experience and generations of knowledge passed down, she has spent her life immersed in the rhythms of rural life—from raising animals and preserving food to practicing fiber arts and teaching others about traditional farm practices.
Little Acorn Ranch is the fruit of that expertise and devotion. Whether you visit for an educational tour, pony lessons, a hands-on workshop, or simply to reconnect with nature, you’ll discover practical wisdom, heartfelt stories, and a warm, welcoming place to learn and grow alongside us.
